Zobtopia("we," "us," or "our") respects the privacy of our users, including students, teachers, and principals (collectively, "Users") from public school districts who access and use our digital learning platform (the "Platform"). This Privacy Policy describes the types of information we collect, how we use it, and with whom we share it.
Information We Collect
We collect the following information from Users:
- Students: We collect student IDs solely to allow teachers to create groups and track learning progress. In accordance with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA), we do not collect any other personally identifiable information (PII) directly from students.
- Teachers: We collect names, grade level taught, school, and district affiliation from teachers who log in using their district email accounts or a designated district logon. We may collect additional information from teachers on a voluntary basis, such as preferred teaching styles or areas of expertise, to personalize their experience on the Platform.
- Principals: We collect names, school affiliations, and district affiliations from principals who log in using their district email accounts or a designated district logon.
Information Use
We use the information we collect for the following purposes:
- To provide and improve the Platform: We use student IDs to allow teachers to create groups and track student learning progress. We use teacher and principal information to manage user accounts, provide support, and potentially personalize the platform experience, as mentioned above.
- To analyze learning data: We may anonymize and aggregate student learning data to identify trends and improve the effectiveness of the Platform.
- To comply with legal obligations: We may use User information to comply with applicable laws and regulations, including responding to lawful requests from government authorities.
Information Sharing
We do not share User information with any third parties for marketing or advertising purposes. We may share User information with third-party service providers who help us operate the Platform, such as data storage providers. These service providers are contractually obligated to keep User information confidential and secure, following industry best practices.
We may disclose User information if required by law, to protect the rights and safety of our users or others, or to prevent fraud or illegal activity.
Data Security
We take reasonable security measures to protect User information from unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, or destruction.
